Georges Hobeika’s Greek goddesses bring antiquity to the catwalk, but with the modern touch that defines Hobeika’ work. His Haute Couture Spring-Summer 2018 fashion is inspired by the Hellenistic heritage, its art and myths which the Lebanese designer sublimates with his sense of luxury and his signature flowers and leaves motifs. The procession of these "modern goddesses" reveals symbols and motifs usually found on sculpted friezes, ionic columns, Greek baths and antique ceramics. Read more…

“Love is a Rebellious Bird” Georges Hobeika’s Andalusian Couture collection Diala Aschkar, Art Director at Orient Palms, France Georges Hobeika’s Fall-Winter 2017-2018 show at the Paris haute couture fashion week was a dazzling evocation of Andalusia. Hobeika’s sumptuous designs were reminiscent of the vibrant patterns of the Alcazabas, of the geometric tesserae of the azulejos mosaics and of the majestic architecture of Granada, Cordoba or Sevilla. From the flamboyant capes to the mermaid-shaped dresses, to the curvy shapes of botanical elements embellishing graceful boleros, everything exuded a sensuality worthy of the homeland of Flamenco. Gems from the ocean Georges Hobeika RTW S/S 2017 Diala Aschkar, Art Director at Orient Palms, France Georges Hobeika’s Spring-Summer 2017 Ready-to-wear collection takes us into a journey of oceanic discovery and enchantment, a lyrical expedition with rich variations. First we dive into the mysteries of the deep ocean with its exotic creatures and aquatic plants in the coral reefs that inspire the color palette and embroideries of the collection. We resurface, breathing the blossoming of the seaside poetic flowers, flowers being the signature in Georges Hobeika’s work. The waves lull us on a bed of sea foam patterned lace. And at dawn, we are lost in the dreamy gold and silver reflections on the great ocean, hence the black fabrics and golden beads. Read more…
