The beautiful debutante, Angélique de Limburg Stirum, has also French heritage from her grandmother Hélène d’Orléans, sister of the current Count of Paris. At the age of 21, Angélique is a business major student and is currently pursuing an Erasmus year in Hamburg. She is also a painter and a model; no wonder there was no need to retouch the dress, it suited her like a glove! It was Ophélie Renouard, the ball organizer, who suggested Georges Hobeika to Angélique, knowing that the young Countess was looking for something very feminine and romantic. Angélique tried many gowns from Georges Hobeika’s Haute Couture Fall-Winter 2016-2017 collection, and couldn’t make up her mind, falling in love, each creation after the other. Then finally, she picked a stunning, long gown of emerald silk tulle, embroidered with golden silk threads and embellished throughout with laser cut flowers, pearls, sequins and crystals. She completed her look with Louboutin shoes and Payal jewelry.
This year’s Dinner Ball was aimed at raising funds for two non-profit associations: “Seleni”, in New York, which funds research and care to assist teenage mothers, and “Enfants d’Asie”, which facilitates the schooling of young girls in Southeast Asia.
